In this paper, the implementation of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) and drive system for propulsion two-seat electric motorcycle is described. The overall design focuses on required vehicle speed, acceleration, driving distance, cost, as well reliability. performance three-phase 6/4 pole (six-stator four-rotor pole) four-phase 8/6 (eight-stator six-rotor are investigated compared by static analysis dynamic analysis. Their further finite element indirect torque controller in optimal efficiency operation also mentioned. A methodology rotor position detection its hardware proposed. designed 3.5 kW SRM were constructed tested test bench. maximum about 82% could be achieved system. It was installed 120-cc motorcycle, vehicle’s validated on-road dynamometer testing. speed reached 82 km/h, cruising distance 98 km at constant 40 km/h measured.
